Fall Break Intensive Program
October 16th-20th, 2023

Looking for a learning environment or childcare for your child over fall break? Kosasa Academy provides a program of engaging and effective instruction in a variety of subjects.
Block A (8–9 AM)
Choose one or two classes, depending on when your child will arrive.
8–8:30 AM
Educational games and activities/ Art Exploration - If you need earlier childcare, please ask!
Block B (8:30–9 AM)
Choose one class.
Block C (9AM–12:30 PM)
All students participate in classes 1, 2, and 3. Parents choose one additional class. A snack break is included.
3. Vocabulary: Morphographs are the smallest part of a word that has meaning. In this active, exciting class, students learn the definition and spelling of up to 20 of these useful little word parts. This knowledge is the key to unlocking the meaning of hundreds of words resulting in higher SAT test scores, increased reading comprehension, and a larger general vocabulary.
4. Prescription Math: Each student receives diagnostic pretesting to determine their specific needs. A multisensory math program is custom-designed to fill gaps and move forward on a firm foundation.
5. Choose one of the following classes upon registration.
a. Additional Prescription Math
b. Orton-Gillingham Phonetic Reading Instruction: Reading instruction that works! OG is the gold standard for reading instruction.
c. Keyboarding
School Lunch (12:30 pm - 1 pm)
Block D (1:00-3:30PM)
Afternoon Energy Boost: We all get moving to energize our minds and bodies and prepare for an active afternoon.
STEAM: Math and chemistry are the focus as students create art and prepare delicious healthy foods.
After Care (3:30-5:00PM)
If you need a later pickup time, just ask!

- Keyboarding: Students learn to keep their fingers on home row, and type looking only at the screen.
Block C (9AM–12:30 PM)
All students participate in classes 1, 2, and 3. Parents choose one additional class. A snack break is included.
- Stretch and Move: A short period of movement and stretching will prepare minds and bodies for a day of learning and growing.
