Looking for a learning environment or childcare for your child over summer break? Kosasa Academy offers a program of engaging morning classes and amazing afternoon excursions.
Schedule and Pricing
**Students may attend for the Morning Program, Afternoon Program, Or All-Day.
Early Drop Off -7:30 (If you need an earlier drop-off time please contact us.)
Morning activities: Reading, Typing, Math games. (This is not included in the ALL DAY pricing.)
Morning Program 8 – 12
Yoga
A short period of movement and stretching will prepare minds and bodies for a day of learning and growing.
Individualized Math
Each math student receives diagnostic pretesting to determine their specific needs. A multisensory math program is then custom-designed to fill in gaps and move forward on a firm foundation. (You may choose this option twice)
Writer's Workshop
In this course, students learn to write strong sentences and construct compelling paragraphs along with special techniques for getting started on writing projects.
Orton-Gillingham Phonetic Reading Instruction Two to three students per teacher.
Students have fun engaging in multiple activities to learn to decode and understand the text. This class is a must for beginning or struggling readers.
Typing
Students learn to keep their fingers on the home row and type, looking only at the screen. A variety of activities, games, and competitions make this class engaging and fun.
Shakespeare Live!
In this very popular class, students explore a major Shakespearean play, learn the meaning and applications of plot, exposition, setting, characters, rising and falling action, climax and denouement and have fun producing and acting in scenes from the play. There’s fun and learning for every age group in our Shakespeare class!
Lunch 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm
KA provides nutritious lunches each day for only $6.50 or students may bring their own. Only students participating in Outdoor Adventures may stay for lunch.
Afternoon Program:12 - 12:30 PM
STEAM!
Students learn the scientific method, build and launch rockets, do project-based math, and construct backdrops in this adventure-filled class.
Outdoor Oahu
Spend the afternoon learning about local history and enjoying the beautiful outdoors! Excursions (weather permitting) have included a hike to Makapu’u lighthouse, fishing at Ho’omaluhia Gardens, and a visit to the Humane Society to pet the puppies and cuddle the kittens. We have managed to not bring home fish, puppies, kittens, or fleas, but we have brought back our share of mud and lots of smiles
After Care Program 4:00 - 5:00pm
Join us for some free time, rest, and relaxation after our busy day. We will have fun games, snacks, and social time while parents come for pick up. This is not included in the ALL DAY pricing. (If you need an later pick-up time please contact us.)
