Admission: $5 per child; $6 per adult. Participants must arrive at 9:00 am. The program will not be delayed for latecomers. Students will be immersed in the awe-inspiring natural beauty, historical significance, and cultural practices of Waimea Valley. They will be guided through three of their prominent cultural sites - Hale Hō‘ike, Kauhale, and Kahua Pā‘ani. Each site is presented as a connected cultural engagement, each explained and shared through its inherent significance and supported by associated Hawaiian cultural values. Students will be immersed in the rich history of the Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, which spans over 130 years. Bishop Museum is the largest museum in the state and the premier natural and cultural history institution in the Pacific, recognized throughout the world for its extraordinary collections, research projects, and educational programs. Participants of the field trip will experience the Hawaiian Hall, Science Adventure Center, J. Watumull Planetarium, and exclusive exhibits.
